Reading a Newspaper...

I found an interesting news about the political campaing in USA ans it says the following:

The Republican Party spent on Sarah Palin $150,000 for clothing, shoes and make up, this amount of money is shocking but is necessary?
Some people say yes, because is legal and appropriate for the campaign to show a well dress candidate, however the McCain campaign mentioned that the clothing after the elections will be destined for charity. On the other hand, some people mentioned that is a waste of money.

In the article Scafidi says,. "When you see that number in the middle of a credit crunch" and consider the irony of "spending enormous amounts to reach ordinary people" for whom $150,000 is probably more than a year's salary, the spree is "a political disaster."

I think that all the money wasted in Sarah Palin is unnecesary, because is more important invest in health and education rather than clothes, but some people don't worry about, what can we do? just wait what will happen in the elections.

Argumentative Essay Reloaded

Define "terrorist." Under what circumstances, if any, is "terrorism" acceptable?

After 9/11 the word terrorism appeared constantly in Magazines, TV, Radio, and Internet. so I would like focused my second argumentative essay on that interesting topic.

I read the interviews and I found so much talent on it, many of them are from teachers such a Milca, Andrés, etc.(very good partners!!!)but there are three that caught my attention. Which were Constanza, María José and Astrid interviews.

If I have to chose one, I prefer Astrid because of the topic and how she ask some personal questions to Rosario, I think she has talent!!

On the other hand, what did I learn from interviewing interesting people?...

that you can discover many things of people entering to some aspects of their lives, sharing painful or happy moments. Also you have to be prepared and be careful of what questions you are going to ask.

Interview

Ramón Pérez is not an ordinary man. He is a teacher, a pastor, a good father and a husband. He studied his Masters degree at Universidad de Chile and his PhD in Spain. Although he is the Vicerrector Académico of Universidad Adventista de Chile he is a humble person. With all the responsibilities that he has, Mr. Pérez receive all the students in his home with an open heart (I’m one of them).We share a nice moments and also we learn more about the Scriptures.
In this interview we can find some personal questions and other related to the University.

1. What do you do in your free time?

When I have time, I like to read and be with my children.



2. What places that you have made a strong impression on you?

I remember Moscow whit his Red Square, Venice is a beautiful place. Also Rome, the Colosseum and the Catacombs. In Germany the Branderburg Gate.


3. What kind of priority is giving the University to the use of the English language?

We are trying to reinforce the use of this language through the missionaries that come to our University to support conversations. There are some agreements with Andrews University to send students from the English Teaching Training Program to that Institution for the next year. Besides, we have the Language Institute project.


4. Who is your favourite writer?
I like Nietzsche, Savater also Ricoeur and Unamuno.




5. Why?
Because is a philosophical author that I like and I have dedicated time to study him because of my PhD.


6. Mention some advantages and disadvantages of being Vicerrector.

I have the opportunity to participate and collaborate in decisions, developing new ideas of this University, but the disadvantage is the lack of time with my family.

7. Can you leave a message to all the Unach students?

The students have to think and do things on their own. They have to establish high goals and defend their convictions, if you believe that this is true follow the truth like Ellen White said: “until heavens have fallen”.
